Then joining the Quotes Team might be your calling! With three Stoic communities across Scotland and dozens of attendees, there is a lot of work behind the scenes that goes into organising successful and engaging events.
The Quotes Team prepares a list of quotes that relate to a specific theme in Stoicsm (e.g. justice, wisdom, dichotomy on control). Every member can select a theme that they would like to research. Their goal is preparing a list of at least 15 well-sourced and thought-provoking relevant Stoic quotes (either from actual Stoic philosophers or scholars researching Stoicism) and at least one item of recommended reading that complements this particular topic.
Each team member is welcome to select (or suggest) any topic they like. After accepting the deadline (which can be months in advance) they are responsible for preparing materials for this meeting.
It’s a great project for those who love to go on a more independent journey of self-study while at the same time supporting their community by sharing the fruits of their intellectual exploration.
